Analemma Visualization - May '03

My first ever graphics program. I used openGL, although I didn't really know what I was doing at the time so the code is somewhat hacked together from various sources. This was a program that explains what is known as the analemma. This is the shape that the sun makes in the sky over a course of a year. Since I was not familiar with graphics, it was designed to be more mathematically informative than visually interesting. I showed graphs that explain elements of the analemma resulting from the tilt of the Earth and the eccentricity of the Earth's orbit. Parameters can be altered to generate analemma shapes of other planets as wel. The project took me about a month to complete.
