RenderMan Procedural Modeling - Jellyfish - Oct '04



This was a procedural modeling exercise using Pixar's RenderMan software. This was done as part of a procedural effects class at Parkland College. The idea is to use primitive shapes and some simple math functions to model these creatures procedurally. I used some propogating sine waves for the tentacles and some other sinusoidal functions for the head. The video just shows how these things grow and swim. Not mind-blowing but it has an interesting look to it.
