Sunglasses - Mar '05![]() This was an animation I did in Maya for my classes at Parkland College. I created these sunglasses using subdivision modeling and then rigged them up with some simple nonlinear deformers. This is designed to be sort of a screen test for the character, so it just comes on screen, looks around, and exits. This is also a study in compositing, so I used a background plate of an image I took of my apartment. I used a blue rubber ball (real, shown in the photo) to match shadows and lighting. I removed it for the animation, but the sunglasses hopefully appear as if they are actually in the scene. I also took a picture of a reflective ball sitting in my apartment and used it as a reflection map on the glasses, so the glasses are actually reflecting my apartment. Shadows didn't quite come out perfect, but I think it still looks pretty good. Click on the above image to take a look. |
